Born in St. Helier, Trevor Pitman is married and is 48 years old. Having previously pursued successful career in business management at the beginning of the 1990’s Trevor re-trained as a Youth & Community Development professional, graduating from De Montford University. He has served the St. Helier community as a Senior Youth Worker since the mid-90s. Trevor has undertaken some ground-breaking work on behalf of young people – including anti-racist initiatives; the promotion of political engagement; citizenship work; and using his skills raise significant funds toward further community/education projects.
To quote Senator Elect Alan Breckon: "Trevor Pitman’s record in serving the community speaks for itself. Over the past 15 years he has undertaken some excellent work and demonstrated commitment for the benefit of both young people and families. This has included using his skills to raise in the region of £250,000 toward increased educational opportunities and new facilities."
As a strong advocate of social justice, in October I stood in the Senatorial election out deep concern about the direction Jersey’s government had taken in recent years. I believe current ministerial policy is creating an ever-widening gap between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’. This is now also placing an increasing financial strain on hardworking middle earners, and leaves the long-term future of many of our young people decidedly uncertain.
Our older generation too – people who have worked hard for Jersey all their lives – are being made to feel like second class citizens in their own island by the introduction of GST and Income Support scheme that remains significantly flawed. Senior politicians seem wholly unable to get to grips with major issues such as controlling population growth governmental reform.
I feel that St. Helier in particular needs strong representation – our capital really is at a critical point in its history. I believe that I have skills and experience to provide that strong representation for St.Helier - while also playing full role in wider island affairs.

“Any person standing for the States to represent the ordinary people of Jersey requires courage by the bucketful. As I know from experience, it’s a tough road taking on the establishment. Trevor Pitman has that courage and I hope the people of Jersey give him the chance to try and change things for the better.” Ted Vibert Former Senator Founder Jersey Democratic Alliance
