The Key 2008 Election Dates
for your Diary:
Listed below we
have re-capped the key dates you need to have highlighted in your diary
if you do not want to find your chance to vote in the elections has been
wasted. As yet these have not been ordered so we cannot provide
exact dates. However the minute these are firmly established they
will appear on this page.
Wednesday November

The date for the
election of the 27 seats of parish Deputies.
September 2008:
The date by which
anyone wishing to vote in the elections for both Senators and the Parish
Deputies must be registered on the electoral role. The deadline is set
for 12 noon.

election for the six seats to be contested for the position of Senator.
October 2008:
The date by which
you must have ensured you are registered on the electoral role if you
still wish to vote in the elections for parish Deputies. The deadline
for this is set for 12 noon.
Parishes and Electoral
Districts
Three of the
island’s twelve parishes are also divided into electoral
districts. These are:
-
St. Helier
-
St. Saviour
-
St. Brelade
All voters living
in one of these three parishes will also need to find out which
electoral district you reside in so that you can visit the correct
polling station on the day of the election.
This is very
important, as should you go to the wrong station your details will not
be recorded and you will be unable to cast your vote!
If you do not
know the electoral district that you live in you should contact your
parish hall immediately. They should be able to give you the necessary
information simply by you providing them with your name and address.
The numbers for the parishes with additional electoral districts are
listed below:
